Date Name Time
Nov 5, 2009 Hide Tanning - Traditional Skills Workshop 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm Optivation - General Events
This workshop will focus on "brain tanning," a traditional method for making buckskin. Using natural materials, participants will see and work with hides in various stages of the process. Discussions and demonstrations will center around history, tools, techniques, literature, and science! Since the entire brain tanning process can take a week or longer, there is no need to bring your own deer hides to this event. Simply come with a willingness to get a little dirty and to learn this great technique! The traditional skills workshops are open to all community members. For more information click here.
