This course is a chance for Certified Nursing Assistants (who have taken a Minnesota-approved Nurse's Aide course and who are on the CNA Registry) to take a six week self-paced online course which individuals may begin at anytime! CNAs can add to their Nurse's Aide Certification allowing them to do home care visits and qualify for more job opportunities. The course fee is $199 and there is an additional fee of $80 to take the exam. This 1-credit course is entirely online. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) imposes significant penalties against companies for failure to comply with state and federal regulations on hazardous waste management. In 2009 their fines for hazardous waste violations averaged over $6,000 each. Do you want to learn more about how your company can maintain compliance with pertinent hazardous waste regulations? Bring your lunch and join Michael Twite, founder of Headwaters Environmental, Inc., to begin this learning process. Mr. Twite has over 17 years experience in the manufacturing sector. He has been a maintenance supervisor, project manager, and environmental manager for multiple wood products manufacturing facilities in the US and Canada. He has been an environmental professional for the past 14 years and educates industry professionals regarding proper hazardous waste management methods, including waste characterization, storage, disposal, effective employee training, record keeping, and other techniques to safely manage hazardous waste and comply with the state and federal regulations. This Brown Bag lecture is free and open to the public and is an introduction to a full length class on "Hazardous Waste Management for Minnesota" that will be taught by Mr. Twite later this fall.
