Mar 29, 2012 BSU & NHCC: Sustainability Across the Curriculum Workshop 4:00 pm - 4:00 pm Optivation - Natural Resources Consortium
Bemidji State University and North Hennepin Community College are offering a two-day Sustainability Across the Curriculum workshop for faculty of all disciplines who wish to integrate sustainability into their curriculum. The workshop will run from approximately 4 pm Thursday March 29 to 4pm Saturday March 31 at Bemidji State University. Through an intensive, lively and fun two days of presentations, exercises, discussions, reflection, and planning, participants will become familiar with integrating sustainability in their curriculum, as well as the philosophy of change in higher education developed through the Ponderosa Project at Northern Arizona University and adapted at Emory in the Piedmont Project. Participants will also experience a range of workshop strategies, hear local experts, enjoy place-based activities, and dialogue with faculty from other disciplines and campuses as they gain help in incorporating sustainability in their own syllabi and lesson plans. In a supportive, engaging and stimulating environment, workshop members will reflect on their own roles in this transformation of higher education. Readings and materials will also be provided. For any questions contact Erika Bailey Johnson at EBaileyJohnson@bemidjistate.edu or 218-755-2560. Or Ana Davis ana.davis@nhcc.edu 763-424-0961.
