At the end of every war, veterans return home to an uncertain future. How will society
receive them? How will they adjust to civilian life? What opportunities will await them? What scars will they bear? This presentation will be based on a history course I taught in the fall, 2009, and will address these principle questions. It will focus on the United States but include stories of other veterans, such as those in Germany after both world wars.
