JOBZ Program Entices Business Owners to ‘Come on Home’
The Job Opportunity Building Zone (JOBZ) program created by the State of Minnesota to stimulate job growth and economic expansion in greater Minnesota, has resulted in over 2,000 acres being available, in the Headwaters Region, for JOBZ designation. Through JOBZ new and expanding businesses in state-selected JOBZ sites will be free from nearly all state and local taxes for up to 12 years. The focus of the JOBZ program is primarily the creation of good-paying, manufacturing, jobs, although each local community has discretion on how to use the program to stimulate economic growth. The JOBZ program was officially implemented on January 1, 2004.

If you want to ‘come on home’ and bring your business with you, you will find that there are exciting economic opportunities available in the Region and throughout the State of Minnesota. Our quality of life makes you feel like you are on vacation every day!

If you want more information about this program, contact Susan Hoosier at the Headwaters Regional Development Commission (218)444-4732. You can check out community profiles and available properties on the MnPro website http://www.mnpro.com/ , which is hosted by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) or check out the JOBZ website http://www.deed.state.mn.us/bizdev/jobz.htm for more detailed information.
