Blogging Workshop Offered

Learn to Create Web Pages Using Dreamweaver
Dreamweaver is one of the leading web design and maintenance programs used today.  The CRI is offering a series of classes to teach you how to create great looking, functional web pages.  Although these classes are built as a series, each one stands alone to meet your specific needs.

Dreamweaver Basics – May 26, 9am-12noon

Site Layout/Linking Pages – June 2, 9am-12noon
Creating Templates/Maintenance – June 9, 9am-12noon

The Bemidji Area Natural Resources Continuing Education Consortium presents Jim Manolis, MN DNR Forestry Division.  Mr. Manolis will present Monday, May 17 at

Academy of Lifelong Learning Will Finish Spring Series
The Academy of Lifelong Learning, a learning in retirement network, will wrap up the spring series May 4.  Join us to hear Randy Burg, Assistant Beltrami County Attorney, discuss “Civil Liberties and the Quest for Homeland Security:  An evaluation of America’s response to 9/11”.  The presentation is scheduled to begin at 10am at the CRI located at 3801 Bemidji Avenue N. NW Regional Small Business Development Center

Small Business Resource Fair Scheduled

If you are in business or just thinking about starting your own business, this is an event you won’t want to miss!  Join the NW Regional SBDC and several other government agencies, non-profit organizations, and for-profit businesses that have programs available to help you with succeed in business.  The Fair is scheduled Wednesday, June 9 at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, MN.  There is no cost for this event but registration is encouraged by calling the Small Business Administration at 612 370 2324.  Click here for more information.


SBDC Counseling now Offered in Park Rapids

The Park Rapids Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Bemidji State University, is pleased to announce the opening of a Small Business Development Center satellite office located at the Park Rapids Chamber of Commerce.  The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) offers free, confidential counseling on business issues to small businesses or start-ups.  Business appointments will be taken from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. every other Thursday starting on April 29th.  Evening hours are available upon request.  Interested businesses or entrepreneurs should contact the Park Rapids Chamber at (218) 732-4111 to schedule an appointment.

Are You Ready to Start Your Own Business?
Entrepreneur 101:  An Introduction to Business Ownership, explores the basic steps to starting a business in the state of Minnesota and connections to resources to start the planning process.  This 2-hour course covers business plan basics and personal decision making (credit, lifestyle, aptitude, etc.)  Registration fee is $20.  Join us on May 4, 6-8pm at the Center for Research and Innovation.

The class is co-sponsored by The People Connection, NW Regional Small Business Development Center and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.

May 3rd - Bagley, Clearwater County Courthouse - Individual Counseling and Training sessions 10:00 - 7:00
May 18th - Baudette City Hall - Individual Counseling and Training sessions 2:00 - 6:00

Evening Counseling sessions will be held at the Center for Research and Innovation in Bemidji on May 10th.
