North Central Door Company Partners with Optivation ... AGAIN
North Central Door (NCD), located in Bemidji, is a small manufacturer of residential and commercial/industrial overhead doors and accessories. In a partnership with Optivation, a joint venture of Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College, NCD will achieve the next step towards aligning with ISO Certification standards, while expanding the training provided through a previous (2009) MJSP grant. Of their 57 employees, NCD will select 18 individuals to be trained as facilitators to lead quality steering teams and address quality improvement issues. Three courses: Using Production Tools as a Quality System Enabler, Effective Project Management, and Process Tools for Quality Team Facilitators - will tie technical training directly with soft-skills required for success. Interactive multi-media will be created to start a resource library for future reference. As a result of training, employees will gain increased skill and confidence in their ability to implement a quality system and support the effort using newly gained soft skills. |
