This program delivers courses which provide foundational concepts and competencies in occupation safety and health, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, risk management, safety program development, accident investigation, legal aspects, and safety and health research. The program strives for academic success based on technical and professional skills backed by fundamental knowledge of regulations, statutes, and consensus standards. Individuals working in this field will assess, evaluate, and analyze work environments, as well as design procedures and programs to control hazards, eliminate and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors.
Graduates may be employed as private or public sector consultants in safety and health. Job responsibilities may include conducting inspections and enforce compliance regulations governing the health and safety of individuals at State or Federal Agencies, or researching safety and health procedures and laws to initiate new standards.
Though there are many employment opportunities in the Safety and Occupational Health field, most fall under two categories: Occupational and Safety Technicians or Occupational and Safety Specialists.

Occupational & Safety Specialists $22.83-$45.01
