Grant Writing - Online Course

Description

This course will bring you through each step of writing a winning grant proposal, from the letter of intent to letters of support. You will learn how to write concise goals and needs statements, describe your organization and project/program, develop a budget, create an evaluation and project timeline, and collect supporting documents critical to the grant process. The course will take you through the Common Grant Application accepted by most foundations and giving organizations, and will give an overview of Federal grant formats. Although grant sources are part of the course, this is not a focus of this session. At the end of the course, you will have a 5-7 page grant written, and have the experience and a model to use for future grants. Recommended proficiencies include writing, technical writing, basic math skills, familiarity with on-line search and e-mail functions, and time or project management.

Objectives

Students will: Have a grant application completed, a template for writing future grants, experience gathering supportive documentation, and knowledge of the grant making universe.
