Q: What does it mean to have a non-credit certificate from BSU?
A: Successful
completion of this non-credit certificate program will serve as a means
of increasing current knowledge and building your professional resume.
It will appear on an official transcript from Bemidji State University
but will not be applicable to any degree program offered by BSU.
Q: How many hours will I need to work on this class each week?
A: Most
participants spend up to 5 hours each week reading and researching
information in order to complete the weekly assignments.
Q: Where is the class held?
A: This
is an online program. You may access the class from any computer with
Internet access. There are no required face-to-face meetings.
Q: What time is the class held?
A: Because
this is offered online, you may sign in to the class when it is
convenient for you during the week. It is recommended that you log in
often so that you see what others have posted and gives you a better
opportunity to ask questions or respond too.
Q: Is there a textbook required?
A: No.
There are some books that are suggested in the syllabus but learners
are not required to buy anything. Everything you need to successfully
complete this class can be found within the class library posted within
the class site or online at a site you research yourself.
Q: How do I know where to find the class online and how to log in?
A: One
week prior to the start of the class, you will be sent an email that
will contain the link to find the class online, your personal username
and password, general instructions for the class and the class syllabus.
Q: Are there any specific times I need to be at a computer?
A: No.
Q: Can I use a either a MAC or a PC?
A: Yes, but the platform used for the class tends to work a bit more smoothly with a PC.
Q: When are the assignments due?
A: The
weeks of the course are opened one at a time on the Friday before the
official start of the week. You may post anytime, any day during the
week. Learners are expected to complete all assignments for the week
