What's New in Word 2007 - Online Course

Description

"I think any business that has upgraded to Word 2007 should have their staff take this course." -Recent student

What's New in Word 2007 is a one-week online course designed to assist users of previous versions of Word become comfortable and efficient using Word 2007. The course focuses on the program's new user interface.

The purpose of the course is to help the experienced Microsoft Word PC user transition quickly to Word 2007.  The primary emphasis will be on the user interface but there will also be tips regarding some of the new functions available.

The introduction of Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc) marks the first major change to the user interface since Bill Gates personally developed the menu interface over 10 years ago.  Microsoft decided, with all the changes to Personal Computers, Personal Computing and what has been learned from millions of users, now was time to rethink how users and the basic office programs relate to each other.  The drop down menu interface is gone, replaced by the ribbon.  The ribbon has many similar characteristics but many, many differences.

This course is designed for people familiar with a previous version of Word who wish to quickly migrate to Word 2007, with a minimum learning curve.

The mantra has been, if you are new to Word you will love the new interface, if you are an experienced Word user it will take you a few hours to fall in love with it.  It took me about 4 hours to reach that point.
